Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2023 Preparation!!
Two months in the making and three days to execute it, this is all possible with the help of our amazing major sponsors Global Ballooning Australia and Anro (A full list of our sponsors is below). It has been an amazing experience and we are thrilled that Rosie Posie Floral Designs could be a part of the show this year and bring the Yarra Valley to the city.
About Our Design
Celebrating times of joy, sorrow and happiness, Rosie Posie Floral Designs aims to be a leading florist destination, spreading brightness and sparkle through each arrangement and creation we produce. Our attention to detail and the quality of the blooms used in our fresh, beautiful floral arrangements ensure you are receiving a luxury product, while our curiosity, innovation and creativity inspire new products and designs to bring a little more colour and joy into someone’s life.
Rosie Posie Floral Designs is a family-owned business based in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Born and bred in this beautiful area, we wanted to focus our design around key aspects of the Valley’s offering. What better way to do this than to bring a slice of this region to the city, showcased via our floral display at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show?
Rosie Posie Floral Designs are proud members of the Yarra Valley Regional Food Group. In line with the world’s fastest-growing food trend for seasonal fresh produce, the inaugural Yarra Valley Regional Farmers Market was held in March 1998. This concept has been an outstanding success for regional producers and for local consumers. Held at Punt Road Wines, the market allows customers and visitors to enjoy what so many come to the Yarra Valley specifically for: their growing reputation for exceptional wines, cheeses and cider.
We are thrilled to have some of the members of the Food Group sponsor our Yarra Valley-inspired design: Kookaberry Farm, Blossoms Organics, Mrs & Co, Cunliffe Waters, Beeswax Food Wraps and Heathmont Honey. Punt Road Wines also provided us with bottles of wine and cartons to incorporate into our floral piece. We are so honored to be a part of this community and excited to have so many local businesses on board to help showcase what the Yarra Valley is best known for – fresh and locally sourced produce.
Additionally, we have been working closely with another major sponsor. With over 30 years of operation in the Yarra Valley, Global Ballooning Australia creates memories that continue to inspire joy and wonder for years after their passengers fly. They have worked with some of Australia’s most prestigious travel, media and hospitality companies, using the magic of hot air balloons to spread the messages of these brands and productions whilst providing unforgettable views and a truly unique perspective of our region. Today, hot air balloons floating high above the misty, lush floor of the Yarra Valley is a truly iconic sight – one that never fails to awe locals and visitors to the region alike.
One special sunrise this summer, I had the privilege of witnessing this operation first-hand, accompanying the balloons to the launch site for take-off. I was able to observe the full scale of the balloons, colour variations and sizes, the different styles of baskets as well as the delight on each and every passenger’s face as the huge, glowing balloons rose into the sky.
Analyzing these key points had an indelible impact on our design, ensuring our floral display was as authentic as possible. Incorporating Global’s vintage display basket in this year’s MIFGS 2023 show will give our design the edge it needs to stand out. Using flowers such as natives will allow the design to encapsulate the rustic, earthy sense of place that the Yarra Valley emanates.
We hope our floral display has inspired you to visit this beautiful region; we’re sure you will love the Yarra Valley as much as we do and that you’ll go on to enjoy everything it offers for years to come.
